Do you feel stuck? Have all of your images started to look the same? Are you in a creative rut that you simply do not know how to escape?

It is time to embrace your inner IMperfectionist! Learn to move beyond the rut into creative productivity! In this session Jyo will show you how to use creative techniques to start seeing your work with pride rather than frustration. Learn to use readily available tools to create dreamy, emotive images. See how to work on a vision and concept while also learning to be an observant photographer. You'll see Jyo prompt and direct her subjects while still achieving “unposed” results. Along the way, you'll learn how to work with different types of light to create images that speak to you and help you define your style! This unique learning experience will help you experiment and push beyond the rules of traditional photography. Participants will also receive handouts covering the tips and techniques from the class. They will all also receive 1 LR color preset and 1 Black/white preset by Jyo. Students should have experience shooting in manual mode and are encouraged to come with both a portrait lens and a wide angle option.

Learning Objectives:

- Learn how to get your subjects to naturally interact with the environment and direct without posing
- Learn tips and tricks on lens choices for outdoors.
- Learn on how to capture mood and incorporate texture and movement for storytelling
- Explore what it means to go beyond the rules.
- Learn the following techniques: freelensing, working with a prism, shooting through techniques (using a bubble wrap, fabric etc.), and working with shadows and harsh light creatively
